Hello world

I have a 25 years long experience as a designer. I figured it was time to expand my skills and get back to the roots of what I viewed as an intrinsic part of my job back in the days - coding. This project is going to be my playground for that and it will hopefully evolve as I get better at it. I will be using this platform as a means for journaling my adventures.

Here’s my stack:

• Astro - they say it’s the web-framework for content-driven websites. I chose it because of the promise of flexibility and the zero lock-in policy, meaning that the framework does not punish my choices along the way. Vue? sure. React on top of it? sure. Svelte? why not;
• Sanity - do you know what a headless CMS is? I sure didn’t but now I do and I love it;
• Vue.js - because I tried it once and it seems perfect for component logic;
• UnoCSS - simply because it seemed less opinionated than Tailwind;

Part of this journey is actually using all my knowledge from my systems design experience and expanding it in a seamless pipeline of transferring design decisions to code while reducing friction to a minimum - a lifelong dream. I am using a great deal of AI in my process but it is mainly as a means to bridge the gaps in my knowledge. In other words, I am not trying to one-shot this with a magical prompt but rather try to learn in the process. More on this in some future log.
